Step 1 – Remove from wall mount and position Lift the chair from its wall bracket near the stairwell. Place it directly behind the person who needs assistance.
Step 2 – Seat and secure the evacuee. Assist the evacuee into the chair. Adjust the headrest and footrest. Fasten all safety belts – head, chest, and thigh straps – securely. Lock the transport handles.
Step 3 – Prepare for stair descent.t At the top of the staircase, tilt the chair to a 90-degree angle with the floor. Engage the track or braking wheels. Ensure the piston is fully locked.
Step 4 – Descend safely. Maintain a firm two-handed grip on the side handles. Guide the chair down the stairs in a controlled, steady motion. A second person at the front improves safety on steep or narrow stairs.
Step 5 – Transition to flat ground.d At the bottom, return the chair to upright on all four wheels. Extend the smaller front wheels for easy horizontal movement. Assist the evacuee in dismounting safely.
Step 6 – Fold and return to storage. Push the small wheels forward, fold the seat upward, lower the headrest, and secure it with the storage straps. Return the chair to its wall bracket, ready for the next use.
