Every emirate in the UAE enforces the UAE Fire and Life Safety Code of Practice through its own Civil Defence department. For schools, this code covers evacuation provisions for occupants with reduced mobility in multi-storey buildings – a requirement that comes up at inspection and at licence renewal.
